Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is unsure when first-choice left-back Alberto Moreno will recover from an ankle problem.
Moreno has been on the sidelines since suffering an ankle injury during Liverpool’s 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow in the Champions League earlier this month.
The 25-year-old, who is rated at £9m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has been absent from his team’s last four Premier League matches, with Andrew Robertson given the chance to impress in his absence.
Klopp was questioned on Moreno’s fitness ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League game away to Arsenal on Friday night.
The German conceded that he was unable to place a timeframe on the Spaniard’s absence, but hinted that it would still be some time due to the fact that the defender has not yet returned to first-team training for the Merseyside outfit.
Klopp told reporters:
“Unfortunately he is still not even on the pitch so that could still take a few weeks.”
Joel Matip and Daniel Sturridge, however, are both making progress in their return from injury.
Liverpool have not lost a match in any competition since a 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on October 22.
