Liverpool braced for January transfer bids

Liverpool's Luis Suarez

Liverpool will endure another fight to keep hold of Luis Suarez in January, according to the Metro.

The Uruguay star was the subject of two bids from rivals Arsenal, while Real Madrid were also heavily linked with the striker.

And the Spanish giants are already planning their bid for the Reds forward in January, as they look to add to their strike options. Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata are the only real strikers at the Bernabeu, although Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo can play down the middle too.

Arsenal are also expected to bid for Suarez again in January, however Real Madrid are ready to use the full £42million received for the sale of Mesut Özil in their bid, which is set to hinder the Gunners.

The Reds repeatedly stated that Suarez was not for sale over the course of the summer, but also added that they would not be interested in selling a star player to a rival. Madrid are hoping that a move that sees Suarez leave the Premier League could tempt the Reds into accepting a bid.

Suarez is yet to play for Liverpool this season as he continues to run down his suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic. The 26-year-old, who scored twice on international duty against Peru, can next play in a Reds shirt against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup on the 25th September.

Would you sell Suarez? How much is he worth?
