Liverpool captain gives cringe speech to departed star

We all knew Liverpool would miss Luis Suarez this season after the goal machine striker completed a move to Barcelona in the summer.

Suarez played a huge part in Liverpool’s title bid last season as they missed out on the final day to Manchester City, an experience that reduced both the forward and his captain Steven Gerrard to tears at some point towards the end of the campaign.

And his absence is certainly making a difference this term, with Liverpool far from the side that were so devastating in attack last season.

And Gerrard sent him a soppy congratulations message to Suarez as the striker collected his Golden Boot award the other night, claiming that they “miss him very much” and that Barcelona are “very luck” to have him moving forward.
