Liverpool: Carragher unsure over Sturridge future

Quoted in The Liverpool Echo, Jamie Carragher has said he does not know if Daniel Sturridge will be with Liverpool for much longer.

The England international is yet to play a full ninety minutes for Liverpool this season, whilst he also hasn’t scored in the Premier League, with Roberto Firmino being the first choice for Jurgen Klopp up front.

When asked whether Sturridge would be at the club for much longer, the former Reds defender said: “Possibly not. Because I think when Jurgen Klopp picks his best team, when everyone’s fit, I don’t think Sturridge is in it, at this moment.”

The former Chelsea striker has been at Anfield since 2013 and will make his 100th appearance for the Reds against Manchester United should he feature.

The two sides meet each other on Merseyside on Monday night with the Reds three points clear of the Red Devils, but it is the latter who have won their last two league fixtures at Anfield.

The last time Liverpool won this game at home was in 2013, when Sturridge scored the winner in a 1-0 victory.
