According to The Daily Mail, West Brom prospect Rayhaan Tulloch is drawing interest from Liverpool ahead of a potential move.

What's the word?

The Baggies have already seen a couple of highly-promising young stars in Louie Barry and Morgan Rogers leave the club, and are understandably keen to keep Tulloch from going the same way.

The report claims that Liverpool are "monitoring developments" over the 18-year-old, although it is understood that Tulloch is keen on getting a chance at West Brom this season under Slaven Bilic.

One for the future

After tasting Champions League success once again at the back end of last season, the Reds have been fairly silent in the summer transfer window so far. Jurgen Klopp's side have so far only confirmed the signing of young Dutch centre-back Sepp van den Berg, whilst the Liverpool boss himself has admitted that this summer would not see them make big-money signings like they have done in previous years.

In Van den Berg, and the reported links to Harvey Elliott and now Tulloch, Liverpool are doing the smart thing of keeping one eye on the future. Immediate success in the here and now is all very good, but there has to be an element of longer-term planning and ensuring that the club are still signing the best youth talent around means the side will be in good hands even after Klopp leaves.

A speedy forward, Tulloch has represented England at youth level and has already made a couple of appearances for the West Brom senior team. If the Reds firm up their interest in the teenager, and manage to get a deal done, then it should be regarded as another astute piece of business from the Merseyside club.
