The 20-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Reds for a number of weeks, after Brendan Rodgers outlined him as one of his major summer targets.
An impressive loan stint with Barcelona B last season has seen Alberto’s reputation skyrocket in Spain, but Sevilla’s perilous financial position may well force them to sell.
It is reported that the Merseysiders will pay an initial £5m to force through a deal, with a further £3m dependant on appearances and other add-ons.
Alberto is a product of the Andalusian outfit’s youth set-up – which also produced former Arsenal star Jose Antonio Reyes – and is widely regarded as one of their best emerging talents.
Rodgers has been alerted to his potential, and is keen to lure the Spanish U-21 international to Anfield as he looks to build for the future.
Although he is a winger by trade, Antonio is capable of playing as a striker or in an attacking midfield role.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are said to be close to finalising a move for Celta Vigo front-man Iago Aspas.
Liverpool fans, is Luis Antonio ready for Anfield? Or is he one for the future?
