Liverpool closing in on ‘world’s best youngster’

Liverpool are currently in pole position to sign highly-rated Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard, with reports from The Sun, claiming he’s travelled to Merseyside to discuss a deal.

The 15-year-old wide-man has already represented Norway at senior level on three occasions, and has been dubbed ‘the best young player on the planet’ by many football experts.

A host of Europe’s top clubs are chasing Odegaard, with Real Madrid very keen, but Liverpool have moved to the front of the pack by opening talks with him.

Reds chiefs are desperate to land him in January, and are ready to pay him big money and offer his club side, Stromgodset, a sizable fee to win the race.

Brendan Rodgers is also keen to personally speak to the player, with outlining his vision for his development a factor he hopes will boost the club’s chances of success.

Liverpool have been further buoyed by claims that Odegaard is a lifelong fan of the Anfielders.

A pacey attacker, the teenage prodigy is already a regular in the Norwegian top-tier, where he frequently takes on players over double his age.
