Liverpool consider triggering £29m release clause for 17-year-old wonderkid

Liverpool are considering their options over a potential move to sign Ruben Neves from Porto, a player that currently has a £29million release clause tied to his contract, Express reports.

The 17-year-old midfielder is already featuring on a regular basis for his club, making 18 appearances so far this season, scoring one and providing another.

Barcelona forward Cristian Tello, who is currently on loan at the Portuguese side, revealed that he believes his teammate is a similar player to that of Sergio Busquets – something Liverpool fans will surely be happy to hear.

“He is fantastic with the ball at his feet, he knows how to position himself and he’s aggressive,” Tello told the Express.

“He’s similar to Sergio Busquets.”

Apart from Brendan Rodgers’ side, Real MadridParis Saint-Germain, and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the Portugal Under-21 starlet.

Neves began his youth career at his present club back in 2005 and broke into the first team in 2014, earning a burgeoning role under Julen Lopetegui in the current campaign.

Should any of the European elite made a formal move, it could very well spark a bidding war, possibly even increasing his already high price tag.
