Liverpool cult-hero a target for Leicester and Southampton amid contract limbo

Leicester City and Southampton are keen on luring Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen to their clubs this summer, according to the Sun.

The Welshman has emerged as quite the cult-hero in the past few months, following his heroic performances for Jurgen Klopp and his outings for Wales at Euro 2016.

Still, the 26-year old is entering the final 12 months of his deal at Anfield and is thought to have been left in limbo in regards to his future on Merseyside.

Former club Swansea City have been linked with a move for the midfielder, while Brendan Rodgers is understood to be eager to bring him to Celtic.

The Saints recently sold Victor Wanyama to Spurs in an £11m deal and are on the lookout for reinforcements in the engine room.

Meanwhile, Leicester run the risk of losing midfield lynchpin N’Golo Kante this summer, with the Foxes’ title hero attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.
