Reina, who has been absent for longer out of the two has missed their last two games with a calf problem. This called for Brad Jones to step in for the crucial win against Tottenham and the shock defeat at Southampton. Reina however will be looking to regain his place after it was confirmed both he and Carragher were back in training. First team coach Mike Marsh told the Liverpool website: ‘They’re both available for selection’.
After missing the defeat at St Mary’s, Carragher is a huge boost for the Reds as it sees him come back into the heart of the defence. The Scouse has somewhat rolled back the years of late and has been keeping Martin Skrtel out of the team.
Another positive for the Reds is that the majority of the Squad have come back from International duty unharmed. Marsh went on to say: ‘We seem to have come through unscathed. We’ve got one or two players missing who are flying back from international duty. They will arrive back tomorrow, they will still be in recovery and hopefully they will train on Friday’
