Liverpool eye Championship Mignolet replacement

Liverpool are eyeing a surprise move for Norwich City’s John Ruddy with concerns surrounding Simon Mignolet’s form mounting, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Belgian stopper has only been at Anfield for just over a year, but despite enjoying a solid start to life at the club following his move from Sunderland, he’s struggled of late.

Mignolet’s less than inspiring showings between the sticks have led to rumours that Brendan Rodgers has lost faith in the stopper, while many have suggested the Merseysiders’ shaky rearguard is a result of his lack of influence.

With only Brad Jones in reserve, the Kop side have stuck by their man, but Ruddy is seen as a player able to come in and challenge him for the No. 1 berth.

The Canaries ace has been in the England squad in recent years, and performed well last term despite his club’s relegation from the top tier to the Championship.

The 28-year-old himself is rumoured to be ready to leave Carrow Road in order to get his international career back on track.

Crystal Palace are also keen.
