Liverpool eye German international

Dennis Aogo (Schalke)Liverpool are plotting a move for Hamburg left-back Dennis Aogo, according to reports from The Express.

The 12-time German international is currently on loan with Schalke, and has caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers with some impressive displays.

The Northern Irishman is thought to be in the market for a new left-sided defender at the end of the season, with doubts surrounding Jose Enrique’s abilities and Aly Cissokho due to return to parent club Valencia once the campaign has finished – barring a formal offer for his signature.

Rumours have suggested that Aogo was in line to make his loan move a full transfer next year, but now it has emerged that no agreement is in place.

This has alerted Rodgers, who is ready to offer the part Ghanaian defender an alternative option.

It is believed that the speculated deal to take the 26-year-old to Gelsenkirchen was worth around £2.5m, and it is likely that Hamburg would accept a similar sum from foreign sides.

Aogo has recently admitted that he is unsure of his future, further opening up the possibility of a move.

“I do not plan anything anymore. I live in the moment,” he said.
