Liverpool eyeing versatile Ligue 1 full-back

Liverpool are interested in Lyon’s impressive young full-back Jordy Gaspar, according to reports from L’Equipe.

The Reds have been extremely active in the transfer market already this summer, signing six first-team players while letting a host of senior stars leave Anfield as Jurgen Klopp shakes up his squad in his first off-season on Merseyside.

Amid this the Kop outfit have been left short at full-back, and with suggestions that top target Ben Chilwell may be unattainable, reports claim that Liverpool are keen on Gaspar.

The 19-year-old is primarily a right-sided defender, but interestingly he can play at left-back, which means he could cover Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno if he’s deemed able to play senior football at Anfield.

Gaspar himself is ‘tempted’ by the Premier League giants, but there is also interest from Bayer Leverkusen, who can offer Champions League football, unlike Klopp’s side.
