Liverpool face fight for PSG ace

Javier Pastore (PSG)Liverpool will have to fight off interest from AC Milan if they are to complete a January swoop for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Reds have been strongly linked with the Argentine playmaker in recent times after it emerged that he is considering his leaving the Ligue 1 champions.

Brendan Rodgers is known to be keen to land a world-class attacking midfielder, and failed with bids for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Willian over the summer.

Despite his side’s impressive start to the Premier League campaign, the Northern Irishman is still keen to remedy his desire for creativity with Pastore.

The 24-year-old is believed to be available for around £20m, with PSG willing to take a loss on the £32m they paid for his signature in 2011.

However, Milan are also keen on the South American.

Pastore enjoyed a fine spell in Italy with Palermo prior to his switch for French football, and the San Siro-based giants are hopeful that they can convince him to make a return to Serie A.

The playmaker has struggled to live up to expectations at the Parc des Princes, but is still thought of as a top talent.

Should Liverpool go all out for Javier Pastore?
