Liverpool were dominant in their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. However, they certainly could, and should, have scored more than just two goals and put the game beyond all doubt earlier.
Sadio Mane has taken the brunt of the criticism for this failure on the Reds’ part to convert more of their goalscoring opportunities. On several occasions against Spurs the Senegalese attacker had a chance to play Mohamed Salah through on goal and instead elected a different option, which inevitably failed to bear fruit.
This series of spurned opportunities to combine with Salah has led some to speculate that the 26-year-old is jealous of, or frustrated by, his teammates’ goalscoring exploits. Even if there is absolutely no truth in such rumours, Jurgen Klopp will certainly be displeased by the lack of cohesion between two of his star forwards.
Ultimately, Mane and Salah’s selfishness could have cost Liverpool points. Plenty of Liverpool fans took to Twitter after the match to call out Mane on said selfishness…
Mane hasn’t given Mo a pass all day!

I’ve never seen a player so obviously jealous of his teammate like Mane is of Salah.
