As reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have been linked with a massive £158m move for Real Madrid talent Marco Asensio this summer.

They say that the Reds have already tabled a serious bid for the 22-year-old after his emergence as one of the top young talents in Europe, starring for Madrid and Spain.

He made 53 appearances for the UEFA Champions League winners last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 6 more in the process.

It's clear he would add serious ability to Liverpool's attacking midfield, but supporters are not buying that they would spend that much money on a player, especially after the failed move for Lyon's Nabil Fekir.

Fans have rubbished the reports, apparently growing bored with the the outlandish nature of the summer transfer window.

Is a move for Asensio realistic, or are Reds followers right to keep their expectations in check over the next couple of months?

They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all this weekend...
