After hanging up his boots in November 2016, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard embarked on a coaching career.

The former midfielder, who won eight trophies during his time at the Merseyside club, is currently learning the ropes as Under-18s manager at Anfield.

As well as being in the early stages of his coaching life, the 37-year-old is a regular pundit for BT Sport.

Despite the fact that he is inexperienced in management, it has been widely reported that Gerrard is a contender for the top position at Rangers.

In fact, according to The Scottish Sun, the former England captain is in talks with the Gers over potentially succeeding Pedro Caixinha, who was sacked seven months ago.

Not long after he retired, Gerrard was approached by MK Dons regarding a coaching role, but he felt that he was not ready.

It remains to be seen whether or not the 2004-05 Champions League winner is keen to take on the challenge at Ibrox, but Liverpool fans are not so sure that it is the right move.
