Loads of Liverpool fans have been running the rule over their 0-0 draw against Bayern Munich, and plenty of them have come to the same conclusion – the Reds do not have enough attacking depth.

It says a lot about Liverpool’s transformation under Jurgen Klopp that a 0-0 draw at home to one of Europe’s biggest powerhouses is being considered a missed opportunity.

Klopp’s side were well on top on Tuesday night, excluding a few periods of pressure from the Bundesliga champions in the first half, but couldn’t find a way past Manuel Neuer.

Sadio Mane had a great chance to score in the first half but dragged his shot wide on the turn, and Roberto Firmino perhaps should have done better with an effort from a tight angle, which he tried to scoop to Mane when perhaps he was better off testing Neuer himself.

Firmino was withdrawn in the second half, unsurprising considering he nearly missed the match through illness, and was replaced by Origi, who touched the ball just four times in his 15-mintue cameo.

It takes a lot more than 11 players to form a great squad, and 23 year-old Origi is simply not good enough to be Klopp’s major attacking change in a Champions League knockout tie.
