Loads of Liverpool fans have been running the rule over their 0-0 draw against Bayern Munich, and plenty of them have come to the same conclusion – the Reds do not have enough attacking depth.
It says a lot about Liverpool’s transformation under Jurgen Klopp that a 0-0 draw at home to one of Europe’s biggest powerhouses is being considered a missed opportunity.
Klopp’s side were well on top on Tuesday night, excluding a few periods of pressure from the Bundesliga champions in the first half, but couldn’t find a way past Manuel Neuer.
Sadio Mane had a great chance to score in the first half but dragged his shot wide on the turn, and Roberto Firmino perhaps should have done better with an effort from a tight angle, which he tried to scoop to Mane when perhaps he was better off testing Neuer himself.
Firmino was withdrawn in the second half, unsurprising considering he nearly missed the match through illness, and was replaced by Origi, who touched the ball just four times in his 15-mintue cameo.
It takes a lot more than 11 players to form a great squad, and 23 year-old Origi is simply not good enough to be Klopp’s major attacking change in a Champions League knockout tie.

Pointless bringing Origi on from the bench the man is absolute trash

It’s absolutely pointless putting Sturridge or Origi on the pitch at any point in the match!
Literally reducing the team to 10 men.
And don’t come back at me with a lucky strike vs Chelsea and a header on the line vs Everton as arguments.
Pair on ponies that need replacing

Arsenal take of Aubamayang for Laca or vise versa and we’re here swapping Firmino for Origi. How is a banter club having more depth up front then us

Being honest mate our achilles heel is a lack of depth up top…firmino had a virus yesterday but was prob rushed back in order to play…such is the drop off down to sturridge and origi its shows…tonight being an example of that last 15min

If Origi is the best we can bring on to give Bobby a breather, we need to sign another striker in the summer badly. Out of his depth at this level. #LFC

Why is Origi now preferred to Sturridge? Studge got more ability in his arms than Origi has in his whole body.

Origi is coming on. Kill me now
