Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the 2018-19 Premier League season on Thursday night as they went down 2-1 at champions Manchester City.

The Reds still have a four-point lead at the top of the table, but it would have been a very healthy 10 had they managed to overcome City at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp took the decision to start captain Jordan Henderson, despite Fabinho's excellent form in recent weeks.

Henderson struggled to make his mark against the Citizens and it would be fair to say that the Liverpool supporters were not pleased with his performance.

Indeed, after the match, a number of the club's fans took to social media to urge Klopp to get rid of the Englishman, who is on £100k a week at Anfield.

Henderson has made over 300 appearances for Liverpool since a 2011 move from Sunderland, but he has not been in the best of form this season.
