Liverpool fans blast Lovren performance in Roma clash

It was just about the perfect night for Liverpool when Roberto Firmino sent the Reds 5-0 ahead in the 68th minute of their Champions League semi-final first leg with Roma.

Roma were down and out at that point, but two goals in the final nine minutes of the match at Anfield ensured that the Italian giants are still in the argument.

Dejan Lovren has had some solid matches for Liverpool in recent weeks, but the centre-back was at fault for Roma’s first of the night, with the 28-year-old failing to deal with a long ball from Radja Nainggolan, and Edin Dzeko finished into the back of the net for 5-1.

Diego Perotti then scored from the penalty spot as the match finished 5-2 to Liverpool, and whilst it was a very positive night for the Reds, many of the club’s supporters have taken to social media to blast the performance of Lovren, who is believed to be on £90,000 a week at Anfield.

Indeed, a number claimed that despite the defender’s recent improvement, he will never be good enough to put in consistent performances at this level of football.
