Liverpool fans call for Divock Origi to start the Champions League final

When Liverpool needed a hero, it wasn’t Mo Salah, nor was it Roberto Firmino, neither was it Sadio Mane. Instead, Divock Origi, a man who has had to play second fiddle all season, came up with the goods as the Reds beat Barcelona.

It was a sensational comeback from Jurgen Klopp’s men as Origi started the scoring before finishing things off, adding Liverpool’s fourth and his second on the night to send his club into the Champions League final.

The Anfield faithful were absolutely delighted with his performance and as such, a host of fans now want him to start in Madrid in the final.

One supporter made reference to four huge goals he’s scored this season, claiming that he has to be on the team-sheet next month. A further fan said they’d be disappointed if he wasn’t picked against either Ajax or Tottenham.

Another individual added that he didn’t think Liverpool would have won the game if Salah and Firmino had played, labelling Origi as world class and calling for him to be included when the final comes around.

The Belgian striker has started just six times this season, but after this performance, will certainly have moved up in Klopp’s estimations.

Here’s how Liverpool fans have been reacting.
