Liverpool fans change their tune about Moreno

Alberto Moreno seemed to be public enemy number one following Liverpool’s midweek result against Sevilla in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side raced to a 3-0 lead inside the first half an hour in Spain, but a second-half capitulation resulted in Sevilla clawing back to a 3-3 draw.

Moreno, who left Sevilla to join Liverpool in 2014, was at fault for two of the goals conceded as he gave away a free kick in a dangerous area and then a penalty.

The Spaniard kept his place in the starting XI for Saturday’s visit of Chelsea at Anfield, and he managed to see out the game without much criticism.

Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead shortly after the hour mark, but the team were eventually held to a 1-1 draw when Willian struck with five minutes of normal time remaining.

Some supporters continue to criticise Moreno, but others felt that the left-back put in a solid performance against the current Premier League champions.
