Liverpool announced on Monday that 21-year-old goalkeeper Shamal George would spend the first half of the 2019-20 campaign on loan with Marine.
George, who has been with Liverpool since 2009, signed a new contract with the Reds in July 2018 and actually spent a period on loan with Tranmere Rovers last season.
The stopper has now moved on once again – this time completing a short-term switch to Marine, who currently turn out in the Northern Premier League.
The Wirral-born ace has been deemed surplus to requirements by Jurgen Klopp – at least for now – despite Liverpool’s first team having problems between the sticks in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign.
George will have the chance to secure regular minutes at his new club, though, with the view to returning to Anfield at the start of 2020.
