Lazar Markovic is one of those players that will always be remembered by Liverpool fans but for the wrong reasons.
The Serbian international moved to Anfield from Benfica in 2014, but he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the team.
Throughout his four years at the club, Markovic has been sent on loan to Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and Anderlecht.
None of those clubs opted to push for permanent deals and it appears that the Reds have been unable to offload him.
The transfer deadline for most European leagues closes on Friday, but at the moment there is no indication that Markovic will be moving on from Anfield.
The 24-year-old winger has made just 34 appearances for Liverpool in total, and in that time has scored three goals and created one assist.
The attack of Jurgen Klopp’s team seems pretty much set in stone, therefore it is unlikely that Markovic will be able to force his way into the side this season.
On Twitter, fans have been posting their surprise that the winger is still at the club, while others couldn’t help but make a joke of it.
Jesus I just realised Markovic is still here! If we don’t get rid this will be his 5th season as a Liverpool player ffs!

He’s got lovely collection of pay slips on his wardrobe. He’ll be SO proud of pathetic professional career when it’s over. WalkOn Redmen

He’s bang average. We can’t even give him away. Like Bogdan, he’ll be a free agent in the summer, then we can finally say goodbye!
