Liverpool fans convinced Klopp needs to buy creative midfielder following Napoli defeat

Liverpool fans were delighted with the club’s transfer activity in the summer, but after witnessing their team lose to Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night, they think that a piece is missing.

Jurgen Klopp brought in midfielders Fabinho and Naby Keita in the summer, as well as attacking Xherdan Shaqiri and goalkeeper Alisson.

For a while now, questions have been raised about recruiting a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left the Reds for Barcelona in January.

Nabil Fekir was widely expected to be that target, but a deal with Lyon never came to pass.

During Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli in Italy, the team did not register a single shot on target, which is hugely unlike them given how scintillating Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were last season.

Even though the club are unbeaten in the Premier League, a creative outlet from midfield has been missing.

Salah, Firmino and Mane are yet to hit their stride as a trio while, collectively, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson have not provided much offensively.

This has led some fans to wonder whether the club need to recruit another midfielder.

Twitter account @empireofthekop sparked a discussion after suggesting that supporters will once again call for Fekir to join.
