It is safe to say that most Liverpool fans have failed to move on from Raheem Sterling's controversial exit three years ago.

The 23-year-old decided to abandon the Merseyside outfit for pastures new in a big-money move to Manchester City.

Since making the jump, Sterling has won the Premier League title and the League Cup, and he is fighting against Liverpool for another English crown this season.

A sense of bitterness still remains in the hearts of some Reds supporters, and that was evident on Sunday when the winger represented England.

Sterling played the full 90 minutes of the Three Lions' 2-1 victory over Croatia in a Nations League encounter at Wembley.

The attack-minded star has before struggled to recreate his club form on the international stage, and plenty of Liverpool fans were unimpressed by his efforts.

So far this season, Sterling has scored seven goals and created five assists in 15 outings in all competitions.
