For months, most Liverpool fans would have been happy to see the back of both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, but now some are worried that neither will be at Anfield come the end of August.
Turkish Football reports that Besiktas are keen on taking Karius on loan for the season, and they are believed to be confident of a deal being reached.
Meanwhile, Mignolet’s agent Nico Vaesen has been quoted by The Sun as saying that talks are underway for his client to join Napoli in the nest few days.
Liverpool have already sold Danny Ward, therefore it would make little sense for them to allow both Mignolet and Karius to depart the Merseyside outfit.
This has raised a discussion on Twitter about which of the two manager Jurgen Klopp should keep as backup to new number one Alisson.
Mignolet is the more experienced of the pair, but Karius replaced the Belgian in January.
Fans have been posted their thoughts on social media.
How can anyone rate Mignolet above Karius. Its staggering what a short stint on the sideline can do to peoples perception of a player

Mignolet should be the keeper that we keep. Sell Karius.

Keeping karius wouldn’t give us a half decent back up 😂! I’d happily give grabara the number 2 role! Looks a good kid

Nobody would give us money for Karius that’s the reason he’ll be kept and Migs sold cos u know Migs is actually pretty decent.
