Rumours linking Liverpool with new players are at a premium at the beginning of the January transfer window but a recent report from Sky Sports suggests two players could be set to walk out the exit door on temporary deals.
The two players in question are Rhian Brewster and Nathaniel Clyne, with Sky Sports reporting that the former is attracting interest from Swansea and Aston Villa, while the latter is available with his return from injury imminent.
Clyne went on loan to Bournemouth last season but failed to earn a permanent deal, and his career has been left in limbo ever since.
Joe Gomez is a centre-back by trade but has proven an able deputy to Alexander-Arnold when called upon, rendering Clyne somewhat surplus to requirements at Anfield.
The £12.5m defender is undoubtedly a quality player on his day but injuries have disrupted his career in recent years, and now it seems he has lost the faith of Liverpool fans on Twitter.
Following the report on his future, a Liverpool fan account asked whether supporters would like to see him stay on as a backup option.
In response to that question, these fans suggested he is finished at Anfield.
No his finished

Rather have a dependable player at this point. Clyne is finished here.

And similar sentiments were echoed by two more fans who called for him to leave the club on social media.
Na, let him go and build a starting spot for himself somewhere

Meanwhile, these fans focused on the presence of youth players and suggested Neco Williams and Ki-Jana Hoever, as well as the experienced James Milner, can be able deputies to Alexander-Arnold.
Given the success of Liverpool’s star right-back since breaking onto the scene, it’s easy to understand why fans are eager to see the promotion of youth.
It’s time to let him go. Neco and Milner can be the back ups. And hoever.

No. Get Williams and Hoever game time
— James (@jameswtweet) December 31, 2019
No! Give Ki Jana Hoever a chance or put Milner there. He needs game time. Not gonna get it at Liverpool. Shame when injuries dominate a player’s career. Looked decent before the injury.
