There has been a lot of talk surrounding Erling Braut Haaland, which is not a surprise when considering his spectacular numbers this season.

Heading into Tuesday's Champions League clash with Liverpool, the 19-year-old had managed 28 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions this term.

The Red Bull Salzburg forward struggled to make his mark against the Reds, though, with WhoScored noting that the teenager completed just 10 passes and managed just one shot on target before being substituted in the latter stages.

And a number of Liverpool fans were not impressed with his performance.

To be fair, Haaland had not helped himself ahead of kickoff by claiming that he would score a hat-trick against the Champions League winners.

And more of the Liverpool supporters poked fun at him after what transpired.

That said, there were a few supporters keen to pay tribute to the teenager, whilst there were also some shouts for the Reds to sign the centre-forward despite his disappointing showing during Tuesday's European tie.

Haaland has still managed eight goals in six Champions League appearances this season, and it will be fascinating to see whether the Norway international decides to leave Salzburg in the January transfer window or at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

Meanwhile, a number of the Liverpool fans were delighted with the performance of one player in particular against Bournemouth at the weekend.
