Lots of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Hakim Ziyech’s personal transfer stance.
The Ajax forward enjoyed an excellent 2018/19 campaign in which he hit 19 goals and recorded 16 assists across the Eredivisie and the Champions League, prompting talk of a move to Arsenal or Liverpool amongst others.
Sevilla expressed the most concrete interest in the 26-year-old this summer, but by the sounds of it, the former FC Twente man won’t leave Amsterdam for nothing.
The Morocco international told Fox Sports: “I feel at home here and get to play a lot. I think Sevilla are at the same level as Ajax and I won’t leave Ajax for no improvement.”
It has also been reported that the Dutch champions placed a £25m release clause in the attacker’s contract, which feels like a snip in this day and age.
Now, this quote seems to have sparked interest from a number of Liverpool fans on Twitter who clearly feel a move to Anfield would be a step up from Ajax for Ziyech, and has resulted in them discussing why the Reds aren’t seriously in for him.
Let’s take a look at some of the best tweets…

He wouldn’t cost us a lot either – for me it would be a great investment

He does tick all the boxes. Versatile, great and consistent stats, realistic price etc. He or any other WF would get plenty of game time. Wages wouldn’t be crazy either. Still think there is a twist to come this window. Neres!!!!

If we wanted him we’d have him by now, won’t happen
— Tommy (@TLister77) July 28, 2019
Possibly we have spoken to him but can’t offer enough game time cause otherwise I agree looks like an ideal signing for us
— Edward (@Tedwardo79) July 28, 2019
Why haven’t we jumped on his 25 million release clause ?
