Lots of Liverpool fans have been discussing Manchester City’s club-record capture of Spain international Rodri from Atletico Madrid.
“It reminds me of a bus seat!” – Watch a damning verdict on Chelsea’s new kit in the video below…
Given the fact that Liverpool and City could be the ones vying for the Premier League title yet again next year – the Reds finished 25 points ahead of third-placed Chelsea last term – the big-money transfer has caught the attention of some fans of the Merseyside club.
They have been busy discussing how City are strengthening what is already a gargantuan squad, whilst they watch their own club make few moves in the market – Liverpool surely simply can’t afford to stand still when the champions keep getting stronger.
Rodri appears to have been signed as a replacement for the ageing Fernandinho, and it is safe to say that it’s admirable how City actively go out and solve problem positions before they have even allowed them to become an issue.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the Rodri deal…
City signing Rodri is worrying for Liverpool and the rest of the League.
We saw how much of a loss it was for City when they didn’t have Fernandinho last season. They dropped points because of his absence. Now they have a more than adequate long term replacement.

I recall them not playing Fernandinho a fair amount towards the end of the season and they won like 15 in a row. That team is just a really good squad and will be hard to beat. They are also Oil Money United and will continue buying 70m players to plug the tinyest gap.

People don’t get the point that City are literally buying the league. And as much as we put it up to the last day with them last season, we won’t always be lucky in regards to injuries to key players. They made it through with injuries to Fernandinho & KDB. We can’t do that.

I think it shows there very worried about us

I think with city signing Rodri that’s a message to klopp that he should get a world class midfielder

It’s a great signing from City. Always knew they’d have a better squad than us. Doubt that will change anytime soon, we can’t afford to match them. Important couple of weeks in the transfer window.

It really is. If we have got any hope of finishing ahead of them we got to spend some serious ??? to compete. No point in settling for second best.
— Mohamed (@MoHus66) July 4, 2019
I really hope we go out and spend on quality players, we need to, to keep up with that oil fueled machine..
It’s a bit frustrating to see all our rivals splash on top talent, while we do nothing.

We can’t have a quiet window. We have the money and made a few sales. There’s 0 excuses especially after winning 100m from the CL too. Back up left back and 1 forward or midfielder isn’t asking too much is it? Front 3 & Robbo could get injured which could ruin our season.

That’s why we need signings cause I’m sorry no offence to the 17 year old but we cannot compete if we don’t sign
