When deliberating over Liverpool's potential transfer activity, not many would assume that the attack needs strengthening.

Jurgen Klopp had one of the most devastating trios in the Premier League last season as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino ripped teams apart.

In the current campaign, though, the group have struggled to recreate their scintillating best, and it appears that the manager is considering his options.

It is hugely unlikely that any one of the front three will lose their places any time soon, but perhaps the club are looking for competition.

According to Bild, Liverpool are interested in signing Luka Jovic, who is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, as a back-up to Roberto Firmino, who has only scored once in his last 11 outings in all competitions.

Jovic is only 20 years of age, but he has made an impact this season, scoring 12 goals and registering two assists in 15 matches in all competitions for Frankfurt.
