Nathaniel Clyne has not kicked a ball for Liverpool in a competitive match yet this season, but the full-back appears to be closing in on a return.
The England international was part of the travelling squad that flew to Portugal ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 first leg against Porto.
Clyne has been on the treatment table for the entire campaign so far with a back injury, which he had surgery on in December.
The 26-year-old will not feature during the match, but he will step up his recovery during a four-day trip to Marbella, where the players will attend a warm-weather training camp.
Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been used by manager Jurgen Klopp throughout the season in Clyne’s absence.
Both have managed to cope with the job at hand, but Clyne will be looking to regain his position once he returns to full fitness.
In pictures posted onto Liverpool’s Twitter page, fans were quick to spot the previously forgotten man.
