The transfer window throws up some outrageous stories during the off-season, and it seems that Liverpool fans have created their own.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has been in the media over the last few days due to his heroics in the Champions League final.

The Wales international came off the bench in Kiev to score two goals, one of which was a stunning bicycle kick to help Los Blancos to a 3-1 win over Liverpool.

The Daily Mail recently reported that after the final whistle, Bale, who joined Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, spent 20 minutes in the Liverpool dressing room.

The publication claims that he went to speak to the players, including Adam Lallana, who he has known since the pair were both at Southampton in their younger years.

Despite Bale's goalscoring performance, the Welshman is continually linked with a move away from Zinedine Zidane's side.

Even though the attacker did not have a regular starting spot last season, he still managed to score 21 goals and create eight assists in all competitions.

On Reddit, Liverpool fans joked that the club were closing in on the signing of Bale, purely basing it on his visit to the team dressing room.
