Liverpool fans have vented their fury after Mohamed Salah was omitted from the FIFA 19 Ultimate Team of the Year.

The Egypt international was included in the voting for the virtual side, with a number of different media outlets and pro FIFA players casting their ballot.

But Salah has not made the cut, with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe making up the team's front three.

His Liverpool team-mate, Virgil van Dijk, was included, however, and joins Sergio Ramos at centre-back, with Raphael Varane and Marcelo rounding out the defence. David De Gea plays in goal.

The midfield is made up, unsurprisingly, of Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric, World Cup winner N'Golo Kante and Manchester City's brilliant playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

Nevertheless, Liverpool fans have been left fuming with Salah's absence, with Mbappe labelled "the French Walcott".

They can perhaps console themselves with the fact that he has instead been selected as the Player of the Month for December, meaning a special card will be available through a special Squad Building Challenge.

FFC's James Jones has identified the one thing that could cost Liverpool the title. Find out what it is in the video below...
