Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has fallen out of contention at Anfield, and it is unlikely that he will force his way back into the first team.

As well as being plagued by injuries, the 28-year-old struggled to fit into Jurgen Klopp's system, and as a result, was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion in January.

The England international made just six Premier League appearances for the Baggies, two of which were starts, due to another injury.

Sturridge will not be part of the playing squad when Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final this Saturday, but rumours are rife that the forward will not be in Kiev to watch the showdown.

According to Anfield Edition, the former Chelsea star's relationship with Klopp has 'turned sour' after the manager chose not to invite his player to watch the showdown, despite the fact that soon-to-be-signing Naby Keita has been welcomed.

The report claims that Sturridge feels let down by the Liverpool boss, but the player himself has played down the speculation on Twitter.

The majority of Liverpool fans are on Sturridge's side, with many taking aim at Anfield Edition.
