Every striker goes through a dry spell, but when that happens at a club like Barcelona, the scrutiny is much more intense.

Luis Suarez remains one of the Catalan giant's top hitters, but his goalscoring prowess has not been seen on a consistent basis this season.

In fact, before last weekend, the forward had netted four goals in nine La Liga outings.

On Sunday, though, Suarez was one of the stars of the show as he scored a hat-trick against arch rivals Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the season.

The Uruguayan contributed to a 5-1 thumping for Barcelona at the Camp Nou, and his performance attracted the attention of some Liverpool fans.

The majority of the Reds' fanbase still have a place for Suarez in their hearts as he was a major figure at Anfield during his two-and-a-half-year spell between 2011 and 2014.

The 31-year-old scored 82 goals and registered 47 assists in 133 appearances in all competitions.

The attacking talent of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane means that Suarez's absence is not as heavily felt as it used to be, but some fans would welcome him back.

Others, though, just wanted to praise the attacker for his goalscoring efforts against Los Blancos.
