In just over one week's time, Liverpool will face a huge battle when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield in their opening Champions League Group C clash.

Jurgen Klopp's side reached the final of the elite tournament last season, and they will have to navigate their way through PSG, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade in the hope of qualifying for the knockout rounds.

On Sunday, defender Virgil van Dijk had a taste of what he will be up against when he lined up for the Netherlands in their Nations League match against world champions France.

The centre-back had to try to nullify Kylian Mbappe's threat, which is no easy task.

However, at one point during the match, the PSG star looked to be through on goal until Van Dijk administered a crucial tackle to stop the attacker in his tracks.

Van Dijk did not have much luck marking Olivier Giroud as he allowed the Frenchman to get away from him, which led to the winning goal for the hosts.

Despite that, Liverpool fans had plenty of praise for their defender's ability to stop Mbappe.
