According to La Repubblica, Liverpool recently offered €70m (around £61m) for Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne, but were knocked back by the Italian club.
Insigne has found the back of the net on 11 occasions in 27 appearances for Napoli during the 2018-19 campaign.
According to La Repubblica, the Merseyside outfit approached Napoli over a move for Insigne, with a £61m offer on the table.
However, it is understood that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will not consider selling the Italian for anything under €150m (around £131m).
That is an awful lot of money and it would be a surprise to see the Reds return with an offer of anywhere near the price that is being quoted.
Liverpool fans have been on social media offering their views on the situation and it would be fair to say that a number are not in agreement.
Indeed, whilst some would take Insigne for that price, others feel that it is too much. And there are also those who are refusing to even believe the transfer report.

He is not at all worth 150 or even 100 Million when we have an option to buy Wagner!!
Get the German striker

Sounds like he rates money more than does the player..

Would be a good signing I think but to say he’s a huge upgrade on Liverpools forwards is a bit much, the likes of Firmino and Mane would be on a similar level to him while Salah would be better than Insigne

We don’t need him

Imagine if we got him. Insigne one the left, Mane on the right, Firmino in behind Salah. https://t.co/ORbuRl2flU
