Liverpool fans hijack Maddison’s tweet by begging Norwich midfielder to sign

It is easy to understand why clubs have been linked to Norwich City midfielder James Maddison.

The 21-year-old was in fine form for the Canaries this season, scoring 15 goals and creating eight assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder suffered a knee injury on the final day of the season, but the problem is not expected to keep him on the sidelines for a significant chunk of time.

Last month, The Telegraph reported that Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City all took an interest in Maddison.

Now, Liverpool fans have jumped on the bandwagon, and some have jumped to conclusions after the young midfielder took to Twitter.

Maddison congratulated his England Under-21 teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold for making the senior squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Given that the right-back plays for Liverpool and has had a stellar season for the Reds, some fans have assumed that Maddison could be joining his friend at Anfield next season.

Others switched tactics by begging the midfielder to join this summer.
