Liverpool fans have been on cloud 9 over the summer due to the club’s important transfer business.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has addressed key areas on the pitch by recruiting midfielders Fabinho and Naby Keita, as well as winger Xherdan Shaqiri.
The biggest purchase of them all, though, is the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, who according to Sky Sports, cost a world-record £67m.
The Reds needed to make a statement with a big-money move for a shot-stopper due to the torrid mistakes made by Loris Karius in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in May.
With Liverpool keen to become serious Premier League title challengers, they required a world-class keeper to compete with their rivals, but former Reds star Graeme Souness is not convinced that Alisson is in that category.

In a piece for The Times, the Sky Sports pundit claimed that there “has to be a question mark against” the Brazilian as he has not played 300-400 games at the top level.
These comments have dampened some Liverpool fans’ spirits, those of whom were impressed by the Brazilian when he made his debut in a pre-season friendly against Napoli at the weekend.
Some supporters slammed Souness on Twitter after reading his assessment of the keeper.
Every time he comments on LFC players makes me wonder what he’s so bitter about

This is coming from the man who rejected Peter Schmeichel 🤔

Coming from a man who dismantled an excellent team
When he was in charge

Who cares about his opinion! He single handedly damaged a successful Liverpool era! One of the most useless managers the club ever had @LFC #LFC the club is still trying to recover from his appointment…

I can’t stand Souness. Supposed to be a club legend, never has anything positive to say about them. Still bitter at getting sacked, jog on

Sadly Souness just seems to want to be walking, talking click bait nowadays…

It’d have been better if he had said he’s not good at all based on previous performances. But to use his number of appearances as the basis of this claim is absurd.

He’s had one game for us FFS and kept a clean sheet against Napoli and people are having doubts about him? He organises the defence , fills them with confidence no doubt and has class ability. Give the guy a bloody chance before you start slating him

Moaned we didn’t have a top class keeper. We sign a world class keeper and he still moans
