Liverpool fans impressed by Chilwell’s display against Arsenal

Ben Chilwell has been a rumoured target of Liverpool, but any future deal is likely to cost the Reds a hefty sum as he recently signed a new contract at Leicester City.

The left-back is now tied down to the Foxes until 2024 unless another club offers a substantial figure that is too much to refuse.

This season, the 21-year-old has started all nine of Leicester’s Premier League matches and has completed a full 90 minutes in all of them.

On Monday night, Chilwell and his teammates went up against Arsenal at the Emirates and the youngster played a hand in the opening goal.

After the hosts lost possession in their own half, the left-back latched on before delivering a low ball across goal, which deflected off Hector Bellerin and into the back of the net.

Unfortunately for Leicester, though, they were unable to hold on to their lead as they were beaten 3-1.

Last week, The Mirror reported that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been a long-time admirer of Chilwell, who is believed to be on the list of candidates to replace Alberto Moreno at Anfield.

Liverpool’s first-choice left-back is Andrew Robertson and that does not look as though that will change any time soon, but judging from the reaction on Twitter, it seems that plenty of fans would love Chilwell to be part of the squad.
