Liverpool started with five academy players in their Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal and one of those players, Neco Williams, made a huge impression on some fans.

The 18-year-old was handed his Reds' debut by Jurgen Klopp and he certainly made the most of his opportunity, with the assist for Divock Origi's last-gasp equaliser likely to live long in the memory.

He may have been part of a defence that conceded five goals but many supporters think he was not only the best youngster on the pitch, but the best player.

It is high praise indeed and he is clearly a player with potential, though the downside for him is that he will likely have to compete with another young player in Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back spot.

However, if he continues to improve he could become an option for Klopp, and as one fan pointed out it would allow Alexander-Arnold to move into midfield, a position Jamie Carragher suggested he is more than capable of filling.

Regardless, it was Williams' night, and his performance has been recognised by the fans, with reactions from some below.
