Liverpool fans are absolutely loving the latest transfer reports out of Spain, as Marca claims the Reds are seeking a shock swoop for Pepe Reina.
It’s been a long time since Liverpool fans were actually happy with their goalkeeper situation, but Loris Karius’ fantastic resurgence in the second half of the season has certainly restored some faith.
The German was a disappointment after arriving from Mainz for a bargain fee, but has found his confidence and form since getting the nod from Jürgen Klopp earlier this year.
Fans have been hoping for a quality, experienced keeper to replace Simon Mignolet as the German’s deputy, and Spanish reports are claiming that man could be Pepe Reina.
Reina made nearly 300 league appearances in his first spell at Anfield, and has been a huge success at Napoli as well.
The 35 year-old lost his way a bit towards the end of his stint on Merseyside, but his quality and class is something that has been sorely missed, and fans are loving the latest links.
With Karius seemingly going from strength to strength, the addition of Reina as his deputy could give the Reds one of the best goalkeeping duos in the league, and some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…

Would love Reina back, gutted when he left, not had a decent keeper since.

This is one rumour I hope is true, great goalie who Karius could learn a lot from.

I think it makes more sense then spending 35m on Butlin. I think Klopp will give Karius more time to develop, and Reina would be a perfect tutor
