Liverpool fans loved Karius’ contribution in derby draw

Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by city rivals Everton in the English Premier League on Saturday after Jurgen Klopp made five changes from the side that thrashed Manchester City on Wednesday.

The likes of Mohamed Salah were rested for the encounter, with all eyes on the second leg of the UEFA Champions League tussle at the Etihad this coming Tuesday.

With their top four status looking safe, there was little lost in dropping points to the Toffees and fans appeared to expect a more lacklustre performance after their mid-week exploits.

One player who did perform well was Loris Karius, who produced a stunning first half save to deny Yannick Bolasie, his fingertips enough to tip a curling shot round the post.

The goalkeeper has now kept eight clean sheets in his last 12 matches, turning around his early season form that drew criticism from supporters.
