Liverpool fans on Twitter absolutely loved Georginio Wijnaldum's goal for the Netherlands against Germany on Saturday, and many were calling for him to be moved further forward by Jurgen Klopp.

The Dutch have had somewhat of a resurgence since missing out on the World Cup in the summer, and Ronald Koeman's side showed no sign of letting up in this Nations League encounter.

Wijnaldum's fellow Liverpool man and Holland captain Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring as he headed into an open net after just half an hour. Manchester City man Leroy Sane came on for Germany and spurned a golden chance to level the scores, before the Dutch finally got their second through Memphis Depay in the 86th minute.

Then in the third minute of stoppage time, Wijnaldum picked up the ball and drove at Jerome Boateng, sending him completely the wrong way with a brilliant drop of the shoulder before firing an unstoppable low finish past Manuel Neuer.

The 27-year-old was playing in a three-man midfield, as he has done often this season for Liverpool, but he was given far more license to get forward whereas he has often been the deepest midfielder for the Reds. Check out some of the best tweets below.

So, Liverpool fans, should Klopp play Wijnaldum further forward? Have your say by casting a vote in the poll below.
