With a contract due to expire at the send of the season and widely reported interest from Juventus, it seemed that Emre Can would have found it difficult to muster a noteworthy performance when Liverpool traveled to Huddersfield on Tuesday evening.

However, the German was simply magnificent on the night, scoring the first of Liverpool's three goals as Jurgen Klopp's men sailed to victory against the Terriers.

After the game, Klopp spoke with the media and was asked on the situation regarding Emre Can and his future at Liverpool;

"Sometimes you want to keep a player and sometimes you want to sell a player. As long as people behave like Emre is and delivers, that's all you want. If he goes we shake hands and say goodbye and if he stays we shake hands and say hello again."

And while this quote is inconclusive, it does suggest that Can, who is valued at £25.2million by Transfermarkt, has a decision to make regarding his future.

Following his sensational performance, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to plead with the German to stay at Anfield and sign a new contract in the summer...
