Liverpool supporters were delighted with creative midfielder Adam Lallana after he came off the bench to score during the Reds' 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday.

Lallana, who earns £110,000-a-week, has been in and out the side with recurring injuries in recent seasons and has not nailed down a place in Jurgen Klopp's side since the German's arrival at the club in 2015.

The former Southampton middle man scored with just five minutes to spare to ensure the spoils were shared against their hated neighbours.

The equaliser was Lallana's first goal in more than two years as he hadn't scored since the Reds faced Middlesborough back in May 2017.

Manchester United brought Liverpool's 17-match winning streak in the Premier League to a close, falling short of Manchester City's record of 18 victories on the bounce two seasons ago.

Supporters emphasised the importance of the 31-year-old's contributions on Sunday. One fan had forgotten Lallana had legs, while another said that it was "brilliant timing" for the Englishman to get on the scoresheet.
