Liverpool fans have been urging the club to sign a new goalkeeper for some time.

Simon Mignolet has failed to win over the supporters due to his consistency in between the sticks.

After the turn of the year, manager Jurgen Klopp decided to change his number one.

Mignolet was forced down the pecking order and Loris Karius took his place, but there was unease from a large number of fans due to his less-than-inspiring performances.

The 24-year-old German moved to the Merseyside outfit in 2016 from Mainz and has had to bide his time.

In recent games, particularly against Tottenham Hotspur and Porto in the Champions League, Karius has looked more comfortable in the number one role.

It remains to be seen whether the Reds will move for a new shot-stopper when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

At the moment, though, Karius seems to have won over plenty of the club's following.
