Liverpool have been in positive form of late, but there are still some areas of the pitch that need improving.

Even though Loris Karius snatched Simon Mignolet's number one spot, there have been suggestions that the club should move for a new goalkeeper this summer.

Interestingly, two rumoured targets - Roma's Alisson and Stoke City stopper Jack Butland - have played against the Reds in the club's last two outings.

This afternoon, Butland, who is vying for the number one role in England's World Cup team for Russia 2018, managed to keep Liverpool out at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side dominated for 90 minutes, but their shooting boots were missing as the team failed to find the breakthrough.

In the end, it was a better afternoon for relegation battlers Stoke as they took home a point from the goalless draw.

However, Butland did not shine himself in glory, as at one point he came off his line but failed to keep hold of the ball and ended up knocking it back to Mohamed Salah at the corner of the box.

Liverpool fans were left exasperated by their team's performance, in particular Joe Gomez's contribution, but they also made up their minds about Butland potentially arriving in the summer.
